Dubai – DELTA WORLD CHARTER on 13 May 2015 successfully operated a series of cargo relief flights from Al Maktoum and New Delhi to Kathmandu, to help with one of the most catastrophic earthquake of the century. The relief flights were operated for National Air Cargo, Dubai. Headquartered in Florida, United States, the company has emerged as a global freight forwarder.

The objective was to transport humanitarian supplies from a top government agency that is responsible for administering civilian foreign aid. The dreadful earthquake shook the country on 25 April, the worst in more than 80 years, leaving thousands of people dead, injured and without homes.

Cargo Chief Commercial Officer of Delta World Charter commented, “We are really sad to see the devastation the earthquake has caused in Nepal. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this tragedy. I would like to thank National Air Cargo for offering us the opportunity to assist in this time of terrible calamity. We did face some challenges in the process. When the second flight was scheduled to take off from Delhi, a second earthquake shook Kathmandu. The plane then had to be diverted back to the Cargo Stand. But I am glad everything worked out in the end.”

Delta World Charter has already arranged airlift of more than 3,620 tonnes of cargo freight this year, 6 % for relief, including Ebola in Conakry, Guinea and Disaster stricken Katmandu.
