Delta World Charter on 1 March 2015 announced a new cargo department to implement its extended vision to offer dependable and economical air cargo charter services.
Mr. Roman Gilmanov has been appointed the Chief Commercial Officer – Cargo and will be driving this new initiative. He brings with him 15 years of professional experience in the air transport industry. His earlier venture, Varty Pacific Inc., a cargo and passenger operator, received tremendous market acceptance, as well as regional and national recognition.
Mr. Gilmanov commented, “I am very excited and appreciative to have been named as Chief Commercial Officer – Cargo and to be leading a new chapter for DWC. We will be offering dependable and economical air cargo charter services for all types of cargo, from dangerous goods, to humanitarian relief”.
In his new capacity, Roman has already won two flights on the 747-200 GSA aircraft generating revenues of USD $500k that is a testimony for the business, the owner and the operator of the aircraft. The 747-200 is a heavy freight aircraft and can carry up to 105 tons of payload. It is ideal for the transport of long and massive cargo due to its nose-loading door and its cargo tracks allow any airfreight container or pallet to easily be accommodated. The four turbofan engines make this aircraft apt for long haul flights.
The 747 is a commercial wide-body transport with three levels – an upper flight deck, main deck, and belly compartments. This unique configuration presents several advantages as a freighter aircraft. The belly compartments are pressurized and temperature controlled, thus making it capable of carrying live animals.
Mr. Dmitriy Korshunov, CEO stated, “ I am very excited about Roman’s appointment and look forward to working with him in the new capacity of head of cargo department at DWC. I see significant opportunities in the cargo business and I am confident Roman will play an integral role in further driving our strategies for growth”.
